Overview

The 40 MW Greenough River Solar Farm is located approximately 50 km southeast of Geraldton, Western Australia. The solar farm comprises of approximately 450,000 photovoltaic (PV) modules and related civil and electrical infrastructure

The Greenough River Solar Farm is owned by Bright Energy Investments, a joint venture between Potentia Energy and the Western Australian State government through Synergy.  See details of the project and Bright Energy Investments here

Construction completion

10 MW Greenough River Solar Farm constructed as the first utility scale solar farm to be commissioned and operational in Australia.

2020

Expansion

Greenough River Solar Farm expanded with an addition of a 30 MW tracking system, resulting in a 40 MW facility featuring 450,000 solar panels.

Early 2025

Change of ownership

Potentia Energy acquired a major stake in Bright Energy Investments, owner of the Greenough River Solar Farm.
