Potentia Energy Secures AUD$830 Million Financing To Support Growth Of Its Australian Clean Energy Portfolio
Potentia Energy has completed the debt financing of a diversified renewable energy portfolio of wind, solar and hybrid battery storage assets.
The financed portfolio includes more than 600 megawatts (MW) across six assets throughout Australia
Debt financing is being provided by a group of seven major Australian and international financial institutions.
Potentia Energy has completed an approximately AUD$830 million portfolio financing package supporting its operating renewable energy assets and the delivery of new projects across Australia, comprising more than 600 MW capacity.
The transaction reinforces Potentia Energy’s position as a long-term owner and operator of high-quality clean energy infrastructure and strengthens the company’s funding base as it scales its national portfolio.
The financing will support Potentia Energy’s growing pipeline of utility-scale solar, wind and battery energy storage projects, including projects currently in construction across regional Australia.
The transaction represents a strong vote of confidence in the company’s strategy, track record and disciplined approach to investment. Securing this level of support from leading financial institutions highlights market confidence in Potentia Energy’s long-term vision and the quality of its assets.
The financing marks a significant milestone in the company’s evolution following its rebranding and transition to a dedicated, locally focused Australian clean energy platform.
The debt is being provided by a group of seven major Australian and international lenders including Bank of China, BNP Paribas, The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited, Mizuho Bank, Societe Generale, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation and Westpac Banking Corporation.
Citi acted as financial advisor on the transaction, Allens as legal advisor for Potentia Energy and Ashurst as legal advisor for the lenders.
